May@Mac Another Sucess! Print E-mail

I would like to extend my thanks, on behalf of the Department, to the wonderful and large crew of volunteers who made it possible for us to put on a very successful showcase of the Department for the May@MAC open house this past Saturday. This year we saw a large number of visitors coming through our undergraduate lab facilities and showing a strong interest in Science. We had more than 90 prospective students participate in our Textbook prize pack draw, with countless others coming through in group tours, almost always accompanied by their families, too. We literally had hundreds of people visit the Department on Saturday – a very exciting day indeed.

Many thanks are due to our staff members and faculty who worked behind the scenes in advance, and those who were present on Saturday, working to ensure an organized and enthusiastic welcome for our visitors. My thanks in particular to our large crew of Chemistry and Chemical Biology students, both undergraduate and graduate, who toured our visitors through displays in ABB 122 and 113, staffed information tables, and tirelessly answered a variety of questions, and shared their enthusiasm and passion for Chemistry and Chemical Biology.

With the hope that I have not omitted any names, please join me in thanking our volunteers:
